HacknBreak is an open innovation camp held yearly in Turkey. This year’s edition, which took place in the City of İzmir, counted upon the participation of over 1000 attendants who gathered to discuss about how open innovation can improve the chances of success of the ideas developed, in order to reach the market properly.
The event is structured in several initiatives such as hackathons, ideathon, StartupTalks, workshops and social activities along a whole week, which took place on August 20-26 of 2017.
One of the TRIBE partners, Özyeğin University Center for Energy, Environment and Economy (OzU CEEE), joined the event with 6 researchers and made presentations related to building energy science and human-building interaction. OzU CEEE researcher Cem Keskin discussed theoretical and practical aspects of human-building interaction and the role of gamification in the domain of building energy efficiency. In his speech, Keskin gave detailed information about theoretical approach and methodology of TRIBE project and discussed the project in detail as a case study.
