1.4.4 Reduce the number of lamps
Description
The measure proposes to remove from each fixture a certain number of lamps depending on the light levels previously measured with a light meter. Lamps will be removed where light levels are higher than the acceptable working levels.
Benefits
The reduced number of lamps reduces also the energy consumption
Improve visual comfort
Less maintenance will be required
Limitations
De-lamping may require some minimal wiring changes or the installation of phantom tubes
A preliminary daylight study may be necessary
Economic assessment
Initial investment: low. The cost is zero if the measure is self-made installed. Other costs may appear if wiring should be changed or if a maintenance company is contracted.
